The Vanishing Salt Shaker
Materials
A fresh napkin
A coin
A saltshaker
Procedure
1.) Make sure that no one is sitting next to you. Move around so that no one can clearly see your lap.
2.) Tell your audience that you are going to perform a coin trick. Tell them that you will make the coin disappear by rubbing it with the bottom of the salt shaker.
3.) Place a coin in front of you on the table. Cover the salt shaker with the napkin. Make sure that the napkin is very tight over the salt shaker, so that the napkin becomes a "shell" of the salt shaker.
4.) Hold the salt shaker at it's base, and while rubbing it over the coin, say the magic words: "Please disappear!"
5.) After a few rubs, you must do two things very quickly; first, move the salt shaker towards you, and slap your hand down on the quarter, so no one can see the quarter. Pick your hand up, and when you see that the quarter is still there, look disappointed.
6.) Put the covered salt shaker back over the coin and start rubbing again. Do the same thing as in number 5, except this time, when you pull back the salt shaker, pull it back far enough so that it drops into your lap.
7.) Set the salt shaker down off to the side very carefully. Now, slowly, take your hand off of the coin, and when you see that it is still there, slam your hand down onto the empty shell, laving a squashed napkin. Be sure you did this right, or else your hand will hurt very bad.
