Lindenbergh's Hankie

This trick is so named, because Charles Lindenbergh reportedly loved it. It's a somewhat simple trick, so have fun!

Materials:

a white handkerchief

a dime

a bar of soap

Procedure:

1.) Before you have an audience, cut off a very small sliver of the soap and mash it onto one of the corners of the handkerchief. Make sure that when your audience comes in, the soap is almost invisible.

2.) Lay the dime in the center of the handkerchief. Lay all four corners of the handkerchief on the dime, starting with the soaped corner . The "hankie" should look like a diamond now.

3.) Ask someone from the audience to make sure that the dime is still there by pressing down on the hankie. Make sure they press hard enough to make the dime stick to the soaped corner

4.) Now, put your hands in the crease nearest to you and pull the hankie open. Do this fast. As you pull the two ends away, make sure you are able to hide the coin in your hand, or make sure you are at the end of a table so you can drop the dime into your lap.
