The Naxi Tribe
Introduction
The Naxi Tribe resides mainly in the Sichuan area. This Tribe has a population of about two hundred and seventy thousand. It has retained its rich culture, having unique hieroglyphics and religions. This tribe is well known for its culture, and remains one of the few minority groups who attract tourists. Most of the main cities are currently being modernized for tourists. In addition, the Naxi tribe is responsible for the formation of the Tibetan and Bai Tribes.
Dongba
"Dongba" was originated from a primitive form of Shamanism, and was established by other religions like Tibetan Buddhism and Taoism. "Genesis" is the doctrine of "Dongba" and has been passed down from one generation to the next through oral storytelling.
One story begins like this: "A long time ago, when heaven and earth were still in chaos and no border and human being had appeared yet..." Everything has "Reality and Falseness" and "Truth and Lie". Sun was born from Reality and Truth, on the other hand, Moon was born from Falseness and Lie. Before long, human beings appeared, and the hero Tuozeru was born. He has five brothers and six sisters, and each became a married couple. One day, brothers got God's temper and then, flood occurred. Tuozeru was the only one to survive, he somehow managed to get rid of the bitter trial with a celestial nymph. They began to farm and breed cattle. The celestial nymphs bearded birth to triplets. The children were not able to speak for three years, but after this period of time, each child ended up speaking a different language. The eldest brother spoke Tibetan, the second one spoke Naxi, and the third one spoke Bai (the name of a minority). And then, it was said that each begun to live in the three main areas of China: high area, middles area, and low area."
