energetic - operating with vigor and energy

enuresis - commonly known as bedwetting; a subject being in such a deep sleep that they can not awaken to empty their bladder, and as a result of this, the bladder empties involuntarily

fatigued - weary with labor or mental exertion

fetus - a developing human from usually three months after conception to birth

hallucination - perception of objects with no reality usually arising from disorder of the nervous system

health - the condition of being sound in body and mind

hormones - a product of living cells that circulates in body fluids and produces a specific effect on the activity of cells

immune system - A body function designed to defend the body from disease causing microorganisms

indefatigable - incapable of being tired or fatigued

insomnia - difficulty falling asleep; waking up frequently during the night with difficulty returning to sleep; waking up too early in the morning; non-refreshing sleep; inability to obtain adequate sleep

intrusive lighting - lighting which can disturb inhibit the sleep process.

jet-lag - the body’s inability to adapt quickly to a new sleeping pattern as a result of a conflict between a traveler’s internal clock and the external rhythms in a new time zone

KLS (Kleine-Levin syndrome) - an extremely rare disorder which generally causes the sufferer to need excessive amounts of sleep

lethargy - the state of being lazy, sluggish, or indifferent

lucid dreaming - lucid dreaming is realizing during dreaming, that you are dreaming, and are therefore able to alter or affect the events you dream

memory - recalling what has been learned and retained

nap - to sleep briefly especially during the day

narcolepsy - a neurological disorder which results in bouts of extreme daytime sleepiness; can lead to sleep attacks which may last anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes, with possibly deadly consequences

nerve cells (neuron) - basic structure of the nervous system (brain, spinal cord, etc.)

nervous system - the system which consists of the brain, brainstem, spinal cord and peripheral nerves.

neurotransmitters - a chemical agent that is released by a neuron at a synapse, and acts upon muscles or cells

nightmares - long and terrifying dreams, which disturb and awaken sleepers

night terrors (Pavor Nocturnus) - terrifying dreams, which result in the person waking up screaming, frightened, covered in sweat, with a fast heartbeat, usually disorientated and has no recollection of the dream
