In late October, volunteers from Galesburg High School (Galesburg, IL) joined the effort to spread information about the site. Several freshmen stuffed envelopes with a letter about the site and a flyer which could be duplicated and posted. A group of sixteen volunteers went to the Educational Technology Center where they spent four hours e-mailing law school libraries around the country asking them to consider linking to the Teen Court site. Four members of the American Legion Auxiliary observed and photographed the events which were part of National Make A Difference Day.

In November, we received some feedback from our mailings. Through the guestbook, telephone calls, and letters, a number of communities began inquiring about Teen Court. Mrs. Lolita Junk, the Knox County Teen Court Coordinator, set up appointments to visit several groups in Illinois.

In December, the site began to receive some important website honors. Teen Court was linked to several law enforcement sites, to the ERIC search (a national education-related resource), and to several sites for children and families.

In January, USA TODAY's Classline featured Teen Court in the daily lesson plan that goes out to thousands of schools across the nation. Also, the site received the Gold Tin Award from the Detroit Police Association and the Digby Award from a site that specializes in highlighting material for and by young people.

In February, site designers Mike and Tim were honored by the City of Galesburg with its Youth Extra Effort Award. On Feb. 3, they were the guests of the city council where they received special proclamations. Channel 4 from the Quad Cities did a feature on the site and their award. Also, starting Feb. 24, Teen Court became the Site of the Week for Computer Currents online magazine.

In March, Teen Court Coordinator Lolita Junk was a keynote speaker in Washington, D.C. at the national convention of the American Legion. She had the honor of meeting the national commander of the Legion and presenting him with a copy of ThinkQuest material mentioning the website proposal.

Later in the month, she spoke to a number of educational groups throughout the state of Illinois.
