WHEREAS, the
future of our community, our state and our nation
depends upon the type of young people we rear to
handle the affairs of tomorrow; and
WHEREAS, the
accomplishments and achievements of these young
citizens deserve recognition and commendation for
their efforts; and
WHEREAS, the
citizens of our community are pleased to join in
expressing appreciation and approval of the
contributions of our young people
WHEREAS, Mike and Tim have been nominated byt
the Knox County Teen Court and the Ralph M. Noble
Unit 285 American Legion Auxiliary to receive the
Galesburg Youth Extra Effort Award, they have gone
that extra mile:
To create the
Knox County Teen Court Website for the Internet.
This enormous undertaking required over 600 hours
typing material, conducting interviews, observing
court, attending meetings and preparing the site
material. The Website was launched last August.
E-Mail messages and phone calls have been received
from throughout the nation as well as overseas. The
winter edition of the American Bar Association
newsletter included an article on the Website. In
February, 360 Magazine discussed the Knox County Teen Court
as a part of a feature spread.
NOW, THEREFORE,
I, Fred R. Kimble, Mayor of the City of Galesburg
do hereby urge all citizens in Galesburg to join me
in commending Mike and Tim for
their valuable service to the community.
