Number one: Those of us who have been artificially desensitized to war through exposure to violent movies, television shows, and combat computer games, need to have opportunities to understand the seriousness of war's impact on real humans, the
WarEyes.
Number two: Those of us who have survived or are surviving war, and have become the WarEyes of this century and the centuries to come need to share our burden in hopes of lightening our load in some small way.
Number three: We will feel that we developed a worthwhile project if the people reading and sharing in this web project will be able to sign-off with a deepened empathy towards those who have become WarEyes and will have an increased determination
to apply whatever influence they have to avoid contributing to the creation of new WarEyes.
Number four: The ultimate objective would be that fewer wars would occur because WarEyes and non-WarEyes will determine that the psychological scars and deaths left by war could not be worth the price of whatever the dispute.
Plan:
Stage one: Gathering information from sources which relate the psychological impact that war has had or is having on WarEyes.
A. Traditional Printed sources...books, magazines, diaries, letters.
B. Internet sources...newsgroups, Web sites, e-mail, IRC Chats, FTP sites.
C. Personal interviews...veterans, survivors, relatives, friends, psychologists.
D. An e-mail location on the WarEyes Web page for contributions.
Stage two: Incorporating this information into a web site that is organized in the following manner:
A. Type of war experienced: gang, civil, territorial, world.
B. Geographic area: neighborhood, country, countries, global.
C. View point: soldier, civilian, relatives, friends, politician, psychologist.
D. Links to other sites with pertinent information on the topic.
