Prime Numbers :

 

A prime number is number is a number that its only factors are 1 and itself. 

To find the prime factorization of a whole number write it as a product of prime numbers.

 

To find the prime factorization of 135, there are two different methods.

Method 1


Here, since 135 is 5 times 27, you can break 27 down into 3 x 3 x 3.

 

Method 2


This method uses a factor tree. Remember, a prime number can be a factor more than once. 135 ÷ 2 is not a whole number; 2 is not a factor.135 ÷ 3 =45
