'Til Death Do Us Part

Then he died. He died a horrible, painful death. Paul and Alyssa hated him even after he died just because his blood stained their clothes. After a while though people got tired of celebrating his death. Then they had an idea: they would make one day of the year "El Dia De Los Muerto: Josh" to mourn for him. Yet, they would celebrate his happiness in a new life.
Paul and Alyssa went to school on Josh's birthday, May 14th, and were dressed in black. They didnt speak a word. They were stil mad for all of the horible things Josh did to them, like joking around. They werent exactly always cheery. They thought he was as stupid as a donkey sitting in the middle of a desert.
They walked through the halls of the school, and when school was out they pinned his pictures up on bulletin boards and put flowers in his locker. Corrina, Alyssa's friend, thougth Alyssa was going crazy. But, Alyssa fought Corrina off of her with punches and jabs. Then she ran to the cemetery. She knelt down beside a black marble grave and ran her hand along the smooth engraving. When she was done, she had realized that she just traced the gravestone which said, "Joshua Mark Shirous, beloved friend and family member. May 14th, 1979 - May 7th, 1995." Then she hugged the grave. She lay there and cry until there was no light left in the day.
Her brother Paul didnt bother looking for her. Then, at about 11pm she started pawing and clawing at the hard earth. She dug until her hands bled. Then, she finally reached the cement casket case. She climbed in the hole and lay on it. The she let out a horrible scream.
No one ever saw Alyssa after that: Until there was a search party sent out looking for her. They went to the cemetery and saw a pile of soiled dirt. The people, including Paul and his mother, looked in the hole as they lifted the top off of the coffin. Inside was Alyssa's body, her eyes shut peacefully, her long blonde hair lay about her head, and her small hands folded on her stomach. As they looked at the body, they realized she wasnt breathing. There was grief and sorrow for hours. At about 3am they looked back in the coffin, and were shocked. Josh's body was back in the coffin, and his eyes slowly opened, and his lips spread into a big smile.
Still, no one knows where Alyssa went. Some think she was taken awayby evil spirits, others think that she ran away. But the horror and mystery still remains about Josh--after a year, and he opened his eyes and smiles. Is it living {or dead} proof that there are evil spirits?
