Then He died

Then he died. He died a
horrible, painful death. Billy and Joanna hated him even after he died
just
because his blood stained their clothes. After a while though
people got tired of celebrating his death. Then they had an idea,
they would make one day of the year "Bob's dead day."

It was a marvelous idea. No one had liked Bob alive, but perhaps he would be popular in death. Everyone loves a holiday, don't they? It was decided. "Bob's Dead Day" would be a national holiday. No school would be in session on this day. Ice cream would be free to anyone not named Bob. Anyone who is named Bob gets to take out the garbage all over the city. Anyone not named Bob would get gifts.

Even better, Bob's Dead Day" would be the one day when people tried to find out who and what killed Bob. Was he murdered? Did he fall from his bike and get squashed like road-kill? Was it due to over-eating and bad gas? How did Bob die? That question would be posed on Oprah every year on his special holiday.

All in all, we might miss Bob. Who will be near to harr_____? These and other questions will plague us for eternity, or until Bob's death is a sloved mystery.
