The Magic Potion

The magic potion was finally
completed. Martha, the nurse, put the
vile of crystal blue liquid to the lips of the princess. Almost
immediately, the eyes of the princess blinked open and she
opened her mouth as if to scream... but nothing came out.
Instead the princess simply smiled, began to laugh and exclaimed,
"How glad I am to see you all... what strange dreams I've had of
dragons, potions...!" The nurse wiped a tear from her eye and
replied, "How glad I am to see you also, princess."

"Why do you weep, and where have I been?"the princess asked, her expression
one of bewilderment and confusion.
"You have no recollection of the events that took you away from us?"
"I..I, well, I thought it was all a dream. The dragon, the journey,
the magic potion...it wasn't really real.
"I am afraid that it was all quite real. Hmmm, I wonder if it is a
side effect of the potion that is causing you to forget all that has
happened. Your kingdom is a different place. It has changed, there
is happiness all around, at last, we are free and able to do as we please.
We no longer live in fear. It is all thanks to you."
"Me, what did I do. All I have in my mind are vague recollections
of a tedious journney. I don't know why I took the journey, I just needed
to I guess.
