Venus is called the evening star in western skies because you can see it brightly at sunset before it disappears. Venus is also called the morning star because it can be seen brightly at sunrise in the eastern skies. Venus is the closest planet to earth and has a cloudy atmosphere so it reflects sunlight well, and that enables us to see it. Venus is also made up of rock like earth and is only slightly smaller than our planet. Venus is a terrible world, because it has a suffocating atmosphere that would crush human beings and its temperature averages at about 480 degrees Celsius because the atmospheric pressure is 90 times greater than on Earth. Its atmosphere is made up of Carbon Dioxide gas, in which clouds of sulphuric acid swirl. Venus is twice as hot as an oven due to the atmosphere trapping the suns heat like a greenhouse.
