fractal experiments

I am interested in FRACTALS and have tried very hard to understand how they work. My question is, do you have any ideas on how you can do a science project..(yes, a SCIENCE project) on fractals. I need to figure out a way I can make fractals an experiment. I'm looking for something complicated, but not impossible. Have any good ideas? It would be extremely helpful coming from someone who knows fractals well. thanks
