The Sphinx is photographed by means of satellites where cameras are fixedSprite 0.tif (60214 bytes) near it. These cameras are connected to satellites in order to know what is happening inside the layers of rock in the statue’s body. This helps identify the weak parts that need same sort of repairing or the parts that are subjected to splitting. Consequently, a complete perspective is known about the condition of the statue. This is the most modern international system for dealing with monuments. It is applied for the first time in Egypt.

These photos are taken by using the heat that the body of the Sphinx absorbs from the sun. Later on this heat comes out of the body in different times. Such heat is always natural but any difference indicates the existence of some weakness.
