Ryan is a junior at Lakeland High School. He has a passion for science, and would like to become an astronaut. In his spare time, he builds electronic devices, programs computers, and designs and launches rockets. In April of 1998 Ryan was the 1^st place winner in a national competition sponsored by NASA and the National Science Teacher's Association. He spent a week interning at the NASA Lewis Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Ryan was a 1998 ThinkQuest finalist in the Arts and Literature category. The name of his site is Music Notes.

Ryan plays trumpet and is an active member of his high school band, jazz band, and symphonic orchestra. He has performed several times in the Westchester County School Music Association's All-County Band, as well as in the pit band for several plays. Ryan plans on auditioning for the All-State Band in the spring of 2000. When he is not launching rockets or shooting lasers, he also composes music. Ryan is also an active member of the Lakeland High School Debate Team and is the captain of the JV soccer team.

Hello! My name is Heather and I live in sunny California. Here there are lots of "stars" but, like you, I usually only see them at the movies. Other than ThinkQuest, my life is filled with school and water polo. Other interests include performing arts, creative memories, and leadership (Student Council, City Council Advisory, WASC, etc). I also enjoy backpacking and triathlons but I have to balance that with volunteering at a local hospital and computer time. Well, that's a wrap! You've pretty much learned my whole life story in about two paragraphs.

Ryan is a 15 year old sophomore at Lakeland High School. He loves to fly planes on his computer, and is always eager to learn something new and exciting. His hobbies are programming basic programs, breaking computers, fixing computers, breaking them again, composing music, playing in band, riding his bike, and having a good time. When Ryan grows up, he would like to become a math teacher.

Ryan plays the trumpet in the high school band, as well as the jazz band and symphony orchestra. This year, Ryan wants to get into Wig 'n' Whiskers (the high school drama club).

"I have learned a lot in ThinkQuest. Not only about the subject material, but also how to collaborate research and work with other people. I have also learned how to touch-type because of all the typing I have done. I feel that this endeavor will help me with my school work for years to come."
