What utensils are used while eating, cooking & serving
Eating:In most black communities we use our hands for eating.There are others who use spoons,forks and knives for eating.When we eat porridge with morogo, mogodu, maotwana (chickens feet) and spinach we use hands as usual.While we eat rice, pumpkin,cabbage, betroot etc. and meat is when we use spoons.
COOKING: When it comes to cooking there various cooking utensils used.When we cook porridge we use lefetlho( ),and leso( ). Lefetlho ( )is used for mixing water with maize meal and maize meal then leso( ) is used for making the mixture of water and maize meal a little stip so that we can make porridge.There are different sizes and shapes of pots.There are pots which are used to cook on the stove and others are used to cook on the open fire which on the ground. The types of pots:stove pots e.g. stainles steel pots ( ) and open fire pots ( ) they are are called (drie voets/ three foots)
SERVING: For serving we us plates and mugs. Plates are made of clay and inameel. Mugs are also made of inameel. Spoones are made of wood and steel.
