ENDOCRINE SYSTEM

ENDOCRINE SYSTEM is the system  that contain glands in which chemical messengers are released, these  messengers which are released  are known as "Hormones". The information that is released in the form of  hormones  travels through the bloodstream to specific Organs, Tissues or Cells. The Endocrine system is responsible for  regulating body Homeostasis.

THERE ARE  + 4 (FOUR) MAIN CLASSES OF HORMONES

STEROID HORMONES Types of  lipids which are  composed of  four rings of carbon atoms with various side groups attached.
PROTEIN AND PEPTIDES HORMONES Protein consists of large organic molecules composed of amino acids and peptides they consist of two or more amino acids  linked together with peptides bonds.
PROSTATANGLANDINS HORMONES Are those hormones which modified fatty acids, and are manufactured by many cells of the body.
AMINO ACID HORMONES Are the individual subunit of which protein are made.

THERE ARE TWO MAIN GROUPS OF GLANDS
ENDOCRINE GLANDS

EXOCRINE GLANDS
