CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM

Spinal cord and Brain are the integrating centers of the Nervous system. The central nervous system is divided into  spinal cord and brain.

THE BRAIN

It is the part of central nervous system which is enclosed within the skull. The brain is divided into three parts FORE BRAIN, MID BRAIN and CEREBRAL BRAIN.

FORE BRAIN

-It consist of the Cerebrum which is concerned with   personality, ability to plan and organize, motor function, including vocalization of speech (Frontal Lobe); sensation of touch (Parietal lobe); memory, fear, comprehension of speech (Temporal lobe) and vision (Occipital lobe).

MID BRAIN

-It forms  a large  part of reticular activating system which filters the sensory inputs and acts as  a  selective relay allowing only selected sensory information to reach the fore brain.  Something to  know about  this mid brain is that it is very small.

HIND BRAIN

-It consists of the medulla and the cerebellum. The medulla controls things such as breathing whereas  the  Cerebellum coordinates muscular activities such as doing some movements and balance.

THE SPINAL CORD

It is the part of central nervous system which extends from  the  base of the brain to the hips. Its cells are found in the center and bundles of axons  surround the cell bodies around the outside. The spinal cord is protected by the vertebral of the spine.

The cell bodies of the spinal cord includes motor neuron and neuron cells. The material which is used to communicate with the brain it are known as Axons.
