The fact that "there are more scientists than specimens" - can you back this up?
Also, the theory of evolution is not that man evolved from monkeys, but instead from ape-like creatures. We have learnt in Biology about how genetic mutations can take place - who says that mutations such as these didn't take place in primates millions of years ago, and aren't still taking place?
Finally, is there a more logical explanation for the apparent progress of primates over the ages - increasing brain size, height, and such?
