There are two competing theories to the development of life and how life may have started on planet Earth. The evolution and the creationism.

Evolution describes the natural and undirected process that combine to produce the current diversity of life from its humble beginning of organic compounds.

Creationism explains that God is responsible for the creation of life and everything else on planet Earth and the universe. Christians believe in this theory as it is stated clearly in the Hebrew holy book of Genesis how God created the whole universe in six days. They also believe that it is completely accurate and scientifically valid description of this creation.
