This page is the introduction to light. There are two main aspects of light, the electromagnetic spectrum and light's properties.

The spectrum of light

The electromagnetic spectrum does not only include the light we see, but also harmful gamma rays at high frequencies to radio waves at very low frequencies. Discovered in the 19th and 20th centuries, it proved that many physical phenomemnon (such as gamma rays and light) were just seperate or just overlapping regions wthin a spectrum of waves. In conclusion, all of these phenomena can be associated within the elctromagnetic spectrum.

Properties of light

Light tends to change its characteristics as it encounters substances. Some of these changes are caused by the wave properties of light.
