At Balboa Park, San Diego they are planning a millennium extravaganza. On December 31st, all of the museums surrounding the park will participate, as will a mix of fireworks, music, food, stages for entertainment, hospitality tents, and crafts activities.
It is too late to make reservations to celebrate the year 2000 at Disneyland, it is supposedly sold out. Disney World is also reported to be sold out. It is rumored that Disney is planning a huge celebration. In this celebration Disney is supposedly going to introduce Fantasia 2000, which is an update of Disney's famous animated classic, "Fantasia."
There are more rumors that there is going to be a huge public party at the Empire State building. Although the final word will be said late 1999.
One really interesting event is happening in New York. President Clinton will be joined with more than 50 nations on July 3-9 at New York Harbor. There is anticipated to be 30,000 spectator vessels spread along ten miles of New York Harbor.
In the White House they are planning to have a lecture series (among other things) featuring many prominent men and women who will discuss America's future.
Out of the United States, in Israel, there will be more than 100 events, including Jerusalem 2000. 3-4 million people are expected to arrive in Israel/Palestine during the year 2000.
One million Pagans are planning on traveling to the California dessert to form the world's largest circle. This is to raise awareness of the millennium.
