Why do you think nature (physical nature) too cruel or violent? Do you mean human nature? There is a harmony and symbiosis in natural world or jungle world; higher animals in food chain do not overeat or overkill or hoard food in large quantities for fear of flood or famine. Humans are still to understand in their mind that they are not apart from the greater nature or cosmos or the Divine God or All that is. Universe is a dynamic dance of energy exchange and quantum particles that are not particles as such but infinite potentials. The observer and his expectation collapses the quntum function and manifests his expectation of ceratin outcome of any quantum experimentation. What we do not understand about nature or God or the larger life force beneath the cosmos and cosmic mind exists within our mind! So what is mind? What is thought, emotion, feeling, impulses? Where do they come from? Are they unreal because we cannot see them under microscope or hold them in our hands? Science cannot answer the big questions, until it observes the mind itself! Keep asking and looking. Seek and you shall find.
