Michael Owen is perhaps the biggest soccer sensation since Pele. Born on December 14th, 1979 and raised in Chester, England, Owen became the youngest player this century to play for England, when he debuted against Chile in 1998. His extreme composure was demonstrated in the World Cup, when, at the tender age of 18, he had already earned a reputation as England's brightest star. He's also one of the best strikers in the English Premier League today. His prowess and quickness are unmatched in the penalty box, making him a major headache for any defender! There is considerable disagreement about whether Owen should be compared with great Brazilian soccer stars or English legends. Only time will tell as Michael grows better and better. Surely, the argument will continue...
