These areas of the world also have distinct histories that help to account for present-day environmental differences.Covered in this section are Africa, Eastern Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America, and Western Asia. Among the issues discussed for each part of the world are biodiversity, marine environments, urban areas, industrial processes, and more. Resources discussed here include forests, land and water. The factors that influence the environment
are economic, environmental, political, and social. Each region is searching for solutions to its environmental problems, and is involved in regional and national projects aimed at protecting the environment through cooperation.
