Philosophies
The environment is viewed through many different perspectives by different groups of people.  Utilitarianism, Environmentalism, and Ecofeminism are just a few of the many philosophies discussed in 15 Articles in this section.

Modern philosophies such as Ecojustice, Social Ecology, and Deep Ecology seek to treat the environment in new ways.  In making these and other philosophies, philosophers use such ideas as the Greater Value Assumption and Animal Rights.

Other Features
Once you have learned about the various philosophies,
Determine Your Philosophy by answering some questions.

When you have finished reading the articles in this section, be sure to Test your knowledge.  Students can take these exams and have their scores automatically reported to their teachers by signing up on the Classroom Connection feature.
