People for Animal Rights Germany is an association of animal rights groups throughout Germany.  Member groups include both national organizations and small local groups.

The group's goal is to completely end cruelty to animals.

One of the major concerns of the organization is the use of animals in testing and research.  It opposes cosmetics testing on animals and tries to identify cosmetic companies that have not agreed to end animal testing.

The group also opposes scientific research on primates and genetic experiments with animals.  It is fighting against cruel treatment of animals in zoos and circuses.

Currently, the organization is trying to win protection for animal rights in the German constitution.  The group has had a great deal of success in the past and got the Animal Protection Law passed in 1987.
