The organization is a non-political group that is devoted to protecting the environment.  It uses peaceful methods to achieve its goals and relies on the support of its members to take part in its activities.

Greenpeace relies solely on its members for support, and does not take money from businesses or political organizations.

In addition to being the largest, Greenpeace can boast of being probably the most effective environmental organization in the world.

New members are welcome to join the group, and anyone can make a donation to help support the organization.
