Global Witness is an environmental and political organization based in Britain.  However, the group is not affiliated with any political party.

The focus of the organization is on fighting cases where the exploitation of the environment is used to fund human rights abuses.

The group sends researchers out to investigate possible environmental exploitation and human rights abuses, and also does research using other sources.

It then takes this information and attempts to pressure governments, other environmental organization, and international organizations.  It also keeps the media informed of these abuses.

Currently, the organization is investigating cases in Vietnam, Laos, Angola, Cambodia, and other countries.  It puts out press releases on abusive activities and occasionally publishes books telling about investigations made by the organization.
