Level of Industrial Development By Country

These statistics are provided by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.  UNIDO was founded in 1966 and works with governments and businesses to solve industrial problems.

The data given above measure the economy, specifically the manufacturing sector, of every country in the world.

Historically, the development of industrial processes has affected the environment tremendously.  The Industrial Revolution left a lasting mark on the environment.

Some countries are only beginning to industrialize now.  The statistics for each nation provide a look at how industrialized the country is already and to what extent the country is developing now.

These data are important because industrialization is already having strong affects on the developing regions of the world.  In regions such as Latin America and Eastern Asia, industrialization is beginning to take off and has brought many environmental problems with it.
