Cloak: Owned by Rachel Lee Griffing (1727-1811), daughter of Ebenezer and Sarah Chidsey Lee. Her husband, Jasper Griffing, purchased the Whitfield House in 1776. The house descended to his son, Nathaniel, his grandaughter, Sarah Chittenden, and his great-granddaughter, Sarah Cone, who sold it to the State of Connecticut.

Uniform coat and vest: Used in the local militia. Red coats were worn by different units on both sides in the Revolutionary War, and are still worn by the Connecticut Governor's Foot Guard.
Bonnets: Probably part of the wedding outfit of Lucy E. Sage of Cromwell or Upper Middletown, who married Joel Tuttle of Guilford in 1851.

Other things you can see are the wedding slippers of Sally Pratt and also those of Belinda Ford. Shoe buckles worn by a member of the Denison family. A man's beaver hat made by Stillman & Co., Hartford, and originally owned by Deacon Comfort Starr.
