The trip to Nairobi was made up of two very long flights.   The first flight  (to London) was six hours long and we flew on American Airlines.  The second flight (to Nairobi) was eight hours long and we flew on British Airways.

We arrived in Nairobi on December 19th 1998.  We were driven from the airport to our hotel by a hired driver.  From our hotel we journeyed out to the Giraffe Museum.  Once we were there we saw many animals.  (giraffes, birds, and turtles.)

At the Giraffe Museum we were able to actually feed the giraffes by hand.

After visiting the Giraffe Museum, we drove back to our hotel.   On our way back we stopped at a small bead shop where we found dozens of African hand made beads.  The beads were made out of clay and then left to dry.  Once they were dry, the shop owners carefully hand painted them in elaborate designs.

When we arrived back at our hotel we ate a quick lunch and then went to bed for we were all very tired and definately looking forward to the next day.
