moon overview

As we begin our exploration of the universe, the first and most noticeable heavenly body is our own moon. Second only to the vast sea of stars, our moon has occupied even the earliest astronomers. In reality, before we sent astronauts to the moon, we knew very little about it. Tales in all forms were created to try and explain the moon in relation to the religion of the people.

This section outlines some important facts about the moon, missions to the moon, and a section on the phases of the moon with an interactive Shockwave moon phase calendar.
