Witchcraft of America
The Native American practiced many different types of magic due to many tribes. Each type of magic was somewhat unique besides the fact that all of them have a "oneness" or awareness with the earth and the plant and animal life. Each tribe had their own rituals to their gods and had a way of healing.
Later in the years when the Europeans came over, Christianity was introduced. Christianity feared magicians and was very strict about not sinning. They fear and hate the devil. The Puritans were some of these strictly religious groups. They settled Salem of which where the Salem Witch Trials happened. Salem was male dominated and thought of some woman as evil because in the bible Eve was the one who ate the apple and got her and Adam in trouble. The puritans believed in bad witches who were usually woman of whom sold there souls to the devil to become powerful. Because of the Puritans belief of witches, the Salem Witch Trials occurred. If they just thought of witches as doctors and medicine makers, then maybe the Puritans wouldn't of had a big reaction to people who practice magic or acted weirdly and that the Salem Witch Trials wouldn't of happened.
Today in America, witchcraft is still practiced. There are wiccan cults that believe mainly in mother earth and who cast spells and make potions. Since America is multicultural, there are many other types of witchcraft that may have traveled with an immigrant from another culture in the world.
