Larry Bird's Accomplishments                                   

 The 1979 Player of the Year was Larry Bird from Indiana State University.  Larry was a 6'10 234 pound forward from French Lick High School.  The awards Larry received are the National Collegiate Player of the Year, Sporting News Player of the Year, and the Naismith award.  Larry was the first overall draft pick in the 1980 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics.
