Isolation Condenser (IC)

Unit Has Isolation Condenser: Yes

High Pressure Coolant Injection System (HPCI)/Feedwater Coolant Injection (FWCI)

Pump Tech Flow Rate and related Discharge Head range:

N/A (What licensee call HPCI is actually the Feedwater Coolant Injection System (FWCI). It is not an engineered safeguards system and it is not considered in any loss of coolant accident analysis. HPCI system utilizes the two condensate storage tanks, the main condenser hotwell, two condensate pumps, condensate demineralizers, two feedwater booster pumps, feedwater heaters, & two motor-driven feedwater pumps. The system can deliver 6840 gpm into the reactor vessel at reactor system pressure (using two trains). Condensate and feedwater booster pumps are capable of supplying 3420 gpm at approximately reactor pressure up to 270 psig.

High Pressure Core Spray (HPCS) Not Applicable for this Reactor Type

Low Pressure Coolant Injection (LPCI)/RHR

Not Applicable for this Reactor No. of Pumps: N/A Pump TS Flow Rate and related Discharge Head: N/A Pump Shutoff Head: N/A

Containment Spray

No. of Pumps: 4 (Two separate and independent containment spray systems (a primary loop and a secondary loop) are provided to remove heat, reduce pressure, and restore the pressure suppression chamber temperature following a LOCA. Each of the two independent full- capacity systems has a flow capacity of 6000 gpm and a heat removal capability of 12x107 BTU/hr with spray water temperature reduction from 140øF to 100øF as it passes through the heat exchangers. Each independent spray system is provided with two parallel supply loops each consisting of a pump, strainer, heat exchanger, & valves. Each heat exchanger is independently supplied with raw cooling water directly from the main intake tunnel. The containment spray system is used in conjunction with the core spray system. In the heat removal process of core spray, core spray water is converted to steam which is then released to the containment. The containment sprays condense the steam in the drywell and remove heat from the containment vessels through heat exchangers. Pump Flow Rate and related Discharge Head: 3600 gpm @ 87.7 psid for the primary loop 3600 gpm @ 89 psid for the secondary loop Pump Shutoff Head: 270 psig Core Spray No. of Pumps: 4 (The Core spray system has two loops. Each loop has 2 core spray pumps and 2 core spray booster pumps. The Core Spray Booster pumps are referred to as the Core Spray Topping Pumps in the FSAR) Pump TS Flow Rate and related Discharge Head: Pump Shutoff Head: ~ 340 psig

Low Pressure Core Spray (LPCS) Not applicable for this Reactor Type
