THE COMPOSITION OF BLOOD
|
We can easily separate whole blood into its two major constituents by taking a small sample and spinning it down in a centrifuge. The heavier formed elements group at the bottom of the tube and the plasma remains above. Normal blood separates into ~45% formed elements and ~55% plasma.
