A bit on the darkside, maybe that's only the scan? - but that's the first impact of the picture. Can't help thinking that this is one of those picture that would work as a B&W with stark contrast between white snow and black leaf, or with a "blue" snow in a colour photograph.

Also, once I get the foreground/background array of snow covered branches, I find it difficult to focus in on one dominant formation that is focused and tells the "whole" story.
