I'm gonna be "super" critical here, only because I like this shot and I'm not sure why it appears "odd" (which may be a good thing?)

Compositinally, I like everything about it... what "bothers" me (and not in a bad way) is that it seems to shimmer as if the whole scene is lit by a bright, articial, light... either that or an unclouded noon day sun. The green is SO bright, it takes focus away from the violet flowers, which, if you know the story of the painting "Blue Boy" is part of a famous artist debate about colour.

And that's what "bothers" me... one one level the "artificality" of the shot works against the anticiapted "nature" shot which shade and fade the background... but on another level, I don't think the shot would be as interesting as it is (since "plant" pictures usually don't hit my hot button.)
