Agreed... perhaps though, if he wanted to maintain an illusion of spontaneity and keep the sign, he could have extended the depth-of-field somewhat and had the sign visible in the background.

IMO, having JUST the boy, and a small writeup of the scenario behind the shot, would be best. Of course, that would assume that there was a real, spontaneous-occurance type story behind it, not something like:

"Found a kid who looked good, said to him 'Wanna make $20? Stare up in that tree and look confused!' So he did. I took the shot, got him to sign the release, gave him the money and never saw him again".
