: I have a quantaray 28-80mm as my standard lens (it had a larger rebate then the nikon equivalent, and came out to less money) it went at good request from the sales people. I've had no problems with it, no grainy pictures. nothing unexpectadly dark, no problems with close ups. although i should've taken the 28-105mm it had better F-stop ratings. i'm very pleased with it.
