if you go with a zoom go ahead and spend the extra money on one with a f2.8 capability and be care full when useing the multiplier because it muliplys your f stops also so if you have a f2.8 and use a 2x multiplier then your f stop is now 5.6 this is something to keep in mind for those low light or fast action shots if you can not aford a good zoom then go with a fixed lens of 300mm with the 2.8 capability you will be much happier with this than going with a cheap zoom
