Re: Choosing the right filter

Is there a certain size filter that needs to go with the camera? Also what is the difference between different polarizing filters-I've noticed there are many types?" The filter fits the lens, not the camera. The size should be marked on the front of the lens. I use a skylight filter to protect my lens -- it warms the colors just a little. Some people prefer a UV filter which will have less efect on the color (but will still reduce haze and protect the lens). I'm unaware of fifferent polarizing filters -- a decent one will cost about $50. I think the increased color saturation, blue skys and reduced glare is worth it for some shots. Dennis
