The Solar System: Uranus

Uranus

Uranus is a mysterious planet. It was found by chance, as were it's faint rings. We still don't know much about it--only that it orbits the Sun on it's side, and that it has 15 satellites. Uranus has many rings--nine major ones, and many more faint ones. The rings are made of rock about 3 feet long, with a touch of ice and dust. Some of Uranus's Rings have been created by shepherd moons. The sun's effect on Uranus is like that of the sun on Saturn--slight. Uranus's temperature is a chilly -328º F.
