Why This Site Was Made
This site was made so that students could learn about the fascinating subject of the universe, and mainly, stars. Our team thinks that making learning interesting and interactive is easy, and that's one of the only ways that students really want to learn, unless they were previously interested in the subject, then it makes it that much better. We also developed two versions of the site, one for younger kids (under 12), and one for older (13 and over), because we believe that most kids don't learn about space in this much detail until they are around 6th grade (about 12 years old). We wrote two completely different versions because the younger kids either can't comprehend the complicated terms and ideas, or they just aren't presented with the information. Our team also believes that teachers should be able to teach kids from other sources from the textbook, and we know that they don't have all the time in the world to scavenge the Internet for all the information they need, when they can find it all at one site. We have developed easy to implement lesson plans, ideas, and lessons, that are easy to navigate and read, so that teachers don't have to spend their time making up their own lesson plans, or trying to gather the information piece by piece. Teachers, though, are fully welcome to develop their own lesson plans around our lessons. << back to About This Site movies | parts of our site | library/gallery | planetarium how to use | help | search | site map home © 1999 ThinkQuest Team 25763.
