I have been creating graphics with CorelDRAW since version 7. I was part of the beta team for CorelDRAW 8, and now again for version 9. Corel's high-end bitmap editor, Photo-Paint, has always been my favorite part of the CorelDRAW suite. Although it is not as popular Adobe Photoshop, I have found that it is just as powerful, has more functionality, and is easier to use. In addition, the entire CorelDRAW suite cost about the same as a single competing Adobe product.

The Daylight Deco logo
The concept for the Daylight Deco globe logo started as a sketch on paper. My first digital step was to create an outline in CorelDRAW. Of course, most of the time was spent coming up with the right shape. As most letter 'D' fonts weren't symmetrical enough, I ended up drawing a simple outlined 'D' and adding curved text.

I can remember when the first computer program I ever used to create art on was a simple art program on an Apple II GS. Of course that was when I was seven years old!!! But ten years has past since then and now I have my own PC and along with that I have an even better art program that I got for Christmas called Painter Classic and even better, an art tablet that lets me draw as usual with out the mouse. I don't want people to believe that all these computer art programs is making all this art for us artists too simple, because believe me, it as just as a challenge as any other painting or drawing that I've done by hand. Can you just imagine the look in Van Gogh's or Michealanglo's eyes if they see how art is being done today?? Computers give us so much in the way of art. We can now create things with computers that was never imaginable before. We have video games, and movies that were created my the talented hands of other artists like myself, and they created those wonderful things by using this amazing technology which I believe will one day be the greatest thing that artists will ever have.

Beauty
I had first done this picture by hand on a real piece of paper with just a simple pencil sketch, then got it on to the computer by way of scanning it in. Adding in the color was easy, using the pencil tool on my Painter Classic program, then blending it with another tool gave it a smooth look. I used a paint bucket and gradient tool to give the back ground behind her depth, then to give and even more three dimensional look, I added clouds from a "nozzle" tool that has various pictures to put on to the work. For this picture in reticular, I found that getting the exact color for a mostly monochromatic piece would be difficult with out a color "dropper".
Ecstasy
Starting this one as I start most of my art, with the pencil tool, I sketched the basic out line of the body. Then I filled in the area of the body with black from an ink pen tool. To make sure that the form of the body looked smooth I went over it with my eraser tool. I picked out an already made gradient and applied it with my paint bucket fill behind the body. This one was very quick and easy to make, but the results are beautiful and powerful.
Fetus
I found the basic form of the fetus on a clip art program. After converting the picture over to my Painter Classic program I turned the skin color green and made an oval around it and filled in the oval with black. Making the veins on the womb was simple; I used my ink pen tool and various shades of green. I created the fading black by coloring in the black with an airbrush tool. It also gave a very nice smooth look. The last touch of the sparkles was also created by the "nozzle' tool.
Rose
Using my Paint brush tool I first drew out the shape of the rose in quick and flowing motions. Then after adding all the color I went back over it with a blending tool, smearing, blending the colors and making the picture seeming like watercolors. I had no set idea for this one at all.
Spotlight Super Star
As I was playing around with my art program I came across a feature that allowed to add lighting to my art. I played around with it and created this. Then with a dash of sparkles from my "nozzle" I added the final touch.
Time Warp
Using a gradient in the background and blending the colors, I then drew in the different time pieces with my pencil and made them appear to stretch with the blending tool.
Vacant Stare
This one is the very first picture I ever drew on my Pinter Classic program an art Tablet as a test to see what I could do with it. I drew out one of the eyes, then cut, paste and horizontally flip to create the other eye. then I drew in the nose and mouth with a pencil and blended some of the colors with my blending tool.
Woman
This one took me a while to finish. I first made the face with my pencil, then added color with my ink pen and paint brush. then to make the fading background I used the air brush tool.
