Before getting started
While exploring this site, please keep in mind the following things:

  • All major sections can be access from any page on this site. Click the 'Home' tab to return to the main page.

  • Normal hyperlinks connect to other related pages. Hyperlinks or URLs in italics lead to glossary definitions.

  •
  • All 3D renderings should be used as a general viewpoint and should not be taken as scientifically accurate.

  •
  • Black hole visualization requires very complex software and mathematics to illustrate visual effects. The Plunge depicts a graphical representation of these effects which are not based on calculations.

Links are provided at the end of the tour to other black hole sites which are accurate in this aspect.
