Actually, time only stops to the outside observer. The "outside" observer isn't being affected by gravity and preparing to meet his/her doom. You see, time never stops for you. You keep falling straight in just as if you jumped off a cliff and were being pulled down to the ground by gravity (except alot faster than here on Earth).
