Yeah, its predicted in Einstein's cosmological constant, which Einstein dropped, but then reconsidered and wedged on (I think).

But does everything have to have an opposite to balance it out? Gravity isn't as simple as a push or a pull, its how curving space an object affects other objects around it. Is it possible to negatively curve something or have an object with negative mass? I have no clue.
