Try thinking of other things that would trigger this such as perhaps a collision between two black holes (which of course usually just ends up as one much larger black hole). Or assume space is finite, and perhaps all the matter and space in the universe collapses back into one big black hole that is just pulling and pulling until there's nothing left, until the entire universe is at radius 0 and the black hole has eaten itself and then BANG!
